  • Servings: 12 muffins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk (whole or 2%)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Set oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Mix wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
  4. Combine: Gently fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Do not overmix—batter should be slightly lumpy.
